Great experience! The guides were very caring and helfpul with my aged grandparents, providing chairs along the way and walking sticks. Kurt was awesome-- teaching me all about the science behind fishing and entomology (insects). They are also a green company!
I've ordered a couple of things on their online shop. Awesome customer service! Everything arrived on time. Haven't been to their shop because I live in New Mexico but I plan on it . Their staff is very knowledgeable and friendly, best I've ever felt with. I'll be buying a radian online from them soon. Keep up the good work guys.
My 10 year old son and I had a great day on the river with our guide Craig Hatcher. We are both beginners and Greg was extremely knowledgeable, patient, and fun to be with. We both had a great time and caught some nice fish. Thanks for a great experience!

Cant say enough about the staff and the experience. I have never been on a guided trip before and was not really sure what to expect. When booking my trip I called the shop and spoke with them to figure out the best time to go out. Really anytime would have been good, but they were telling me about the water and where they were going. After booking the trip I arrived at the shop at 6:50am for my trip and away we went. My guides name was Andy (sorry not sure on his last name, but he was originally from NC). He explained what he had planned and away we went. We floated the Colorado river which I had not fished before. Once we arrived he said kick back and relax he had everything covered. He got the boat in the water (and was first in the water before other guides), and away we went. We started catching fish within the first 30 minutes of dropping in, and it did not stop there. I only did a half day, but Andy explained what he was putting on the line and where to throw it at. I was impressed with his knowledge of the water and we had a great conversation throughout the day, and caught a ton of fish to! Every step of the way he was there to explain what to do.
I don't often have an exceptional experience at a Fly Shop. Usually I stop in for a little local news and pick up some "local patterns" that the fish may be responding to. But RAY at Vail Valley Anglers changed all that... He knocked it out of the park. Ray got on to Google Maps to show my son and I very specifically some options on where we could fish, answered questions about fish behaviors, and recommended a handful of patterns that helped us kill it on two local streams. We fished larger waters on the Eagle and then headed to a smaller, meandering stream and hit the browns and cutthroats along the undercut banks. The fish counter kept clicking and in the end we lost count (or didn't have to count anymore). An Epic day with the fly rods. Thanks so Much Ray !!!
The VVA shop was well equipped to help us with flies, tippet and a few other odds and ends we needed. Its situated in a lovely little mall in the Edwards complex. Highly recommend this fly shop !
If you are on the fence about setting a trip up pull the trigger and do it you wont regret it! These guys know the water extremely well, and help you every step of the way. When I save up some more money I will plan on doing another trip as it was truly amazing experience!
